This is the fourth video in the “Watering Techniques” series. This post will focus on watering my Sago Palm bonsai tree. My current watering method for this tree is almost exactly the same as the one seen in this video.

Watering the Sago Palm

I haven’t published an in-depth post about my Sago Palm bonsai yet, however, I did just post a montage about the new set of leaves that just came in! Be sure to check it out. Currently, I water this tree pretty much exactly the same way as seen in the video. The Sago Palm doesn’t need to be watered much and is supposed to dry out a little bit in between waterings. Besides that, when you water it, give it a healthy dose of water just like you would any other tree. Check out the video below to see more.

Considerations

For the longest time, my Sago Palm has not had any problems. However, it has started to develop a few problems. For starters, after all the new leaves grew in, every single one of the frond tips turned yellow and fell off. Secondly, I did not have space on my plant shelf in my room so I decided to place this bonsai on the balcony. Since then, it has started to develop a yellow burn like rash on some of its leaves. I suspect this is leaf burn but I have not looked into this issue much yet. I will be uploading a post soon about this plant so stay tuned!
