Attention! I just posted a super cool video on my YouTube channel, which I will link here as well, following my Sago Palm bonsai tree throughout its development of its new set of leaves! While the leaves were growing in, I was taking pictures every few days on my phone. I didn’t realize that they were live pictures at the time, but that lead to a really cool video montage.

My Sago Palm Bonsai Tree

I haven’t published an in-depth post about my Sago Palm yet, however, there will be one coming soon and this video was just too awesome not to share. I have been caring for this bonsai tree for a little over a year now. During that time, it has stayed relatively exactly the same since I got it except for when it started to grow this new set of leaves. This whole process was spectacular to watch and I hope you enjoy the video.

Below are the pictures that were taken from each of the video clips from the montage above. Be sure to check out the Gallery for more pictures of the Sago Palm tree’s new leaf set.

Considerations

An interesting note, Sago Palm trees only grow a new set of leaves once every year or two. I had owned this bonsai for nearly a year before it showed any signs of new leaves. Since the leaves grow in batches so far apart I consider this even more of a special experience. The images from above the plant, when the leaves were almost grown in, are some of my favorites out of any bonsai tree. Since the new leaves have grown in, most of the tips of each frond turned yellow and fell off. I’m not quite sure why that was happening and now I fear this bonsai may be experiencing leaf burn from being outside! A few unfortunate things are happening with this tree right now so stay tuned for future updates.

I will be publishing a post about my Sago Palm tree and all the things happening with it very soon. I have so many trees its hard to get content about all of them out at once. Be sure to check out my YouTube page to see all my videos. I will always upload them to this website as well but be sure to like and subscribe to my channel to get updated content there as well.
