Old Watering Techniques: Ginseng Grafted Ficus

While digging through all my old photos and videos, I found some old videos of me describing how to water all my bonsai trees. I’m going to post them as a series so you can see how I used to water my trees. My current watering technique is similar, however, I do not use as much water and I have way more plants now so it takes quite a bit longer. This post will focus on watering my Ginseng Grafted Ficus tree.

Watering the Ginseng Grafted Ficus

This video is focused on how to water a Ginseng Grafted Ficus bonsai tree. Since this video was taken, this bonsai tree has grown a lot taller and developed a much denser canopy. Currently, I water this tree a quite a bit less than I did in the video. A little over-watering isn’t that detrimental if it isn’t for an extended period of time. Considerations

Watering a Ginseng Grafted Ficus is pretty easy because this type of tree can tolerate some over-watering or under-watering. Ficus bonsai trees are very forgiving when it comes to watering so you should have little to no problems watering your own.
