Next up on the update series is my second batch of tree seeds. The pine trees in this batch have all continued to grow quite nicely. Additionally, the Sacred Fig sproutings have been multiplying in numbers each day. Since the last update, where I had sixteen, around thirty-five have sprouted now. This batch of seedlings has produced the highest number of successful seedlings and opens up lots of options going forward, designing these trees.

Pine Trees

In the last update, I had four pine trees. This update, I still have four. Sadly, I haven’t had any new pine trees germinate yet. However, the four that have sprouted have been developing rapidly. Normally, pine tree species are slow-growing trees. I do not know what kind of pine tree these are, nonetheless, they are growing faster than I expected. Hopefully, they will continue to follow that trend.

The tiny new bud of growth at the center of the stem has turned into a new set of leaves and has been replaced by a brand new bud of growth. As the new set of needles grows in, it looks like a pyramid opening up. At first, there is a small pointy bud of growth poking out of the center of the stem. These needles start to grow longer and begin to separate. They twist and turn to point into any which direction. They kind of look like hair that has been charged with static electricity. These trees are still so small there is no need to re-pot or fertilize them yet.

Sacred Fig

These tiny seedlings have been popping up left and right! Every day I check up on these and there are always more than the last time. These seeds were so tiny and there were hundreds in the baggie I received. I have no expectations for how many of these trees will sprout.

These trees are so small they almost get washed away every time I water them. I have to brush soil from the tops of each of them so they don’t get covered by dirt. I am very attentive to the moisture level of the soil and do not let it dry out at all. Dry soil could severely damage the health of the tree since it is still so small. For now, I will just continue to water them and let them grow freely.

Considerations

This batch of tree seedling seems to be starting to take off. The Pine trees are growing in fairly fast and the Sacred Fig trees are steadying popping up. I plan to let all the trees in this batch grow freely with no interruption. So far, none of the Dawn Redwood trees have germinated. I am really upset by this because this was the tree I was looking forward to the most in this batch. I haven’t given up hope yet, but if they don’t pop up soon I will have no choice but to throw in the towel on them. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates about my tree seedlings!
