My birthday is coming up next week and I decided to order myself a little present. I was looking around on eBay and stumbled across a really unique looking Jade tree. Unlike other Jade trees, this bonsai has curly leaves that twist all over the tree. I have never seen a tree like this and, for a decent price, had to get it.
My New Jade Bonsai Tree
I really fancy the look of this bonsai. The listing had multiple pictures from every angle, even with a measuring tape to show how big it was. The seller listed this Jade tree as being ten inches tall and eleven inches wide. Looking closer at the pictures, the tree appears to be a little smaller than those dimensions. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if it was on the smaller side. The smaller it is, the easier it will be to fit it on my shelf. I have so many trees now, I’m running out of room on my shelf.
Jade Tree Summary
Jade trees are native to parts of South Africa, thus being somewhat tropical plants. Since they are a tropical tree species, they can be grown entirely indoors. Additionally, Jade trees can store a decent amount of water in their thick leaves. This results in them retaining water for quite a long time. When watering Jade trees, you should allow the soil to dry out slightly between watering to avoid over-watering. I plan to keep my new one on the shelf with the rest of my bonsai collection. It will receive sunlight all throughout the day, which will be more than enough. I am not quite sure how fast this tree grows. It will be interesting to see how this tree develops over time.
I will be adding a new section for this tree in the Gallery once it shows up in the mail. Stay tuned for more posts about this bonsai tree once I get it!
